Journée Internationale pour la Liberté de l'Instruction
Bonjour à tous, L'idée d'organiser une Journée Internationale pour la Liberté de l'Instruction (JIPLI) lancée en France par des membres de l'association Les Enfants d'Abord (led'a) il y a plus d'un an, est en train de prendre forme. La première JIPLI aura lieu Elle sera précédée à Paris par une conférence de presse le 10 septembre.

The Gentle Birth World Congress is bringing together doctors, midwives, nurses, doulas, childbirth educators, naturopaths, psychologists, pastors and parents - all to discuss the impact of birth in all of our lives. There will be many discussions about the state of maternal/child health and all the decisions that parents today are facing when bringing a new being into the world.

« FEMINISME ET NAISSANCE »
Châteauroux -- 22-23 septembre 2007
Ce troisième colloque se propose d'étudier à la fois, dans l'histoire et
dans le présent, la place des femmes et des revendications féministes
dans les évolutions de la mise au monde. Historiquement, les mouvements
de revendication des droits des femmes ont connu plusieurs phases. À la
fin du XIXe siècle, les militantes ont demandé pour les femmes des droits
déjà obtenus par les hommes (droit de vote, droit à l'éducation) et des
droits spécifiques (congés de maternité, primes d'allaitement). À partir
des années 1950 et 1960, sous l'inspiration du livre culte de Simone de
Beauvoir, « Le Deuxième sexe », se développe un mouvement féministe «
égalitariste » puissant, revendiquant dans ses luttes la liberté de la
contraception et de l'avortement, c'est-à-dire le droit de ne pas
enfanter ; la maternité est alors considérée comme une contrainte, voire
un esclavage.
C'est seulement dans un deuxième temps, avec la montée à partir des
années 1970, du courant « différentialiste » du féminisme, que
l'expérience de la grossesse et de l'enfantement est réévaluée
positivement, comme une source de jouissance et de puissance pour les
femmes.
La naissance n'a jamais été au coeur des mouvements et des études
féministes. Ce colloque propose de s'interroger sur les raisons de cet
évitement et d'étudier, depuis le XIXe siècle, cet impensé de l'histoire
du féminisme.
Où en est-on aujourd'hui ?
Le mouvement féministe est devenu moins virulent, car ses revendications
traversent l'ensemble de la société, même si l'égalité n'est pas encore
là. Sur le front de la naissance, il semble bien que la plupart des
femmes n'aient pas encore pris conscience que, sous prétexte de sécurité
et de lutte contre la douleur, le pouvoir médical leur a confisqué une
partie du pouvoir qu'elles avaient sur leurs grossesses et leurs
accouchements.
À l'imitation de celles qui ont voulu autrefois se battre pour le droit à
la contraception et à l'avortement, les femmes d'aujourd'hui, avec l'aide
des sages-femmes, ne devraient-elles pas se mobiliser pour obtenir de
mettre au monde comme elle l'entendent ?
