Humanity, World Birth Issues, Life, Truth and Love, then come spend some time with us in Portland at the Gentle Birth World Congress - September 28 - 30th.  "Motherbaby" will screen more than 25 films from around the world which share the joys, issues and concerns of pregnancy, birth and infancy. Some of the films will make you laugh.  Some will make you cry and some will make you just plain angry.   

Learn how to have a safe birth wherever you are.  Learn what most european countries already know about keeping the cost of birth low and the safety ranking high.  Connect with your friends and your heroes.   Share your ideas with Producers, Directors, Activists and Leaders in healthcare professions . 

If you come, "Motherbaby" promises to open your eyes and your heart.

It is not too late to submit your film to MIFF The deadline for submissions is Sept 1, 2007 We are especially looking for humerous and short films about birth, but are open to considering any film that focuses on conception through infancy and the issues associated with that time. Please include 2 new copies of each entry in DVD format. There is no entry fee. You will be notified by email if your entry has been accepted. Please email diana@sagefemme for any information and to obtain the entry release.
The Gentle Birth World Congress is bringing together doctors, midwives, nurses, doulas, childbirth educators, naturopaths, psychologists, pastors and parents  - all to discuss the impact of birth in all of our lives.  There will be many discussions about the state of maternal/child health and all the decisions that parents today are facing when bringing a new being into the world.

Participants have already registered from around the world. The scientific Congress features world famous speakers AND a FREE Gentle Birth and Baby Expo  with exhibits, baby wearing fashion shows, book signings and lectures covering a multitude of interesting and timely topics on birth and parenting.

The Congress organizers are proud to include the Motherbaby International Film Festival as part of this historic gathering.  Come to Portland, Oregon the last weekend of September and catch a film, listen to a lecture, meet midwives, parents, doulas and doctors and have your heart opened, your mind expanded and your eyes opened.
